Every year on December 2, the UAE commemorates its National Day, also known as Eid Al Etihad. This date marks the unification of the seven emirates under the country’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
This year, the UAE celebrates its 54th National Day with spectacular events taking place across the country. From dazzling fireworks and drone shows to cultural performances and concerts, the spirit of unity will be especially vibrant in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Where to watch fireworks in Dubai
Burj Khalifa
The world’s tallest building will stage a special National Day fireworks show on December 2. Further details will be announced closer to the date.
Global Village
Global Village will celebrate the 54th Eid Al Etihad from November 27 to December 3 under the theme “United.” From December 1–3 at 9 PM, visitors can enjoy UAE-themed fireworks and, on December 1 and 2, exclusive drone shows.
The Main Stage will host the theatrical operetta “From the Desert to the Stars,” performed twice daily, alongside traditional Yola and Harbiya shows.
Khaleeji artist Khalid Mohammed will perform live on December 1 at 9 PM.
Dubai Festival City Mall
On December 2 at 8 PM, Festival Bay will glow with fireworks followed by a live concert from Arab pop star Balqees.
The Beach, JBR
Fireworks will illuminate the sky on December 2 at 9 PM. Great views are available from JBR beach, the promenade and Bluewaters Island’s waterfront restaurants.
Souk Al Seef
The heritage waterfront typically hosts National Day fireworks, but this year’s display has not yet been officially confirmed.
Where to watch fireworks in Abu Dhabi
Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental
A National Day fireworks show will take place on December 2 at 9:15 PM. From November 29 to December 3, visitors can also enjoy family activities, workshops and cultural entertainment. From November 30 to December 4, the hotel’s façade will feature a nightly light show in UAE colors.
Yas Island Waterfront
Celebrations on December 2 and 3 begin at 3 PM and include cultural performances, falconry, handicrafts, henna, calligraphy, local cuisine and a 54-flag garden. Fireworks start at 9 PM. Entry is free, with online registration recommended.
Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival
The festival in Al Wathba will also host a fireworks show, along with cultural displays, food and art—making it a popular family destination during the long weekend.
