It basically acts as a ticket to stay in Dubai long-term - and they're not as hard to get as they were a few years ago. When this visa was first launched, it was given to residents who made a significant contribution to the country, are highly skilled in certain fields or work in key industries. Over the course of 2023, the process has become much more open and now the rules are being relaxed even more, which is great news for our investors.
It still applies that the investor must purchase an off-plan or already built property worth AED 2,000,000. Previously, you needed to have at least AED 1,000,000 already paid off in this investment. Now all you have to do is pay off the initial deposit and then continue to repay the interest-free payment plan if it is off plan or through a mortgage on the finished property.
Thus, the United Arab Emirates abolished the original rule, i.e. a minimum deposit of 1 million AED, now an initial deposit of 20% is sufficient. The UAE is thus trying to encourage more investors from around the world to put down deeper roots in the country.
