The MOON is set to become Dubai’s next icon. A 270-metre-high structure shaped like the Moon will offer a simulated space experience and luxury accommodation.
Dubai never settles for the ordinary. And this time, it's aiming for the stars – quite literally.
A new visionary project is on the horizon, promising to reshape the meaning of luxury, architecture, and entertainment. It's called The MOON. Yes – just like the Moon. And no – it's not a metaphor.
The project is led by Canadian company Moon World Resorts Inc., which aims to recreate the lunar experience right here on Earth – specifically, in the heart of Dubai.
The structure will be a perfect Moon replica, over 270 metres tall, with a base diameter of more than 200 metres. It will sit on a wide circular foundation and offer everything you'd expect from a futuristic resort – and more.
Inside, you’ll find luxury accommodation, entertainment zones, a lunar simulator, wellness facilities, restaurants, a nightclub, and even exclusive sky villas and private apartments. The development is designed to meet LEED Gold sustainability standards.
What to expect under the lunar dome?
Moonwalk simulation – experience walking on the lunar surface in an astronaut suit
Up to 4,000 luxury apartments and sky villas with unmatched views
Fine dining, retail, wellness and nightlife – all under one dome
Eco-friendly design – The MOON aims to become a symbol of sustainable grandeur
Where might The MOON be built?
While the exact location hasn’t been officially announced, two major sites are under consideration:
Palm Jebel Ali, a growing hub of new developments
and Dubai Pearl – a name you might remember
Dubai Pearl: the city within a city that never happened
Originally launched in 2002, Dubai Pearl was set to be a futuristic mixed-use development opposite Palm Jumeirah, featuring residences, offices, hotels, and cultural venues.
Construction stalled after several years, and the project was eventually abandoned.
In 2023, it was acquired by Nakheel, a major developer in Dubai, opening up new possibilities. The site may now be reborn – with The MOON as a fresh chapter built on once-abandoned visions.
When to expect it?
Construction is expected to begin within the next two years. If all goes according to plan, The MOON Dubai could open by 2029. The project is currently in the negotiation and approval phase.
Who is The MOON for?
For those who seek the extraordinary.
For travellers who aren’t just looking for a hotel, but for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. For Dubai residents used to the unexpected – but still craving something truly new. And for visionaries and investors watching as Dubai becomes the epicentre of the future.
A symbol of how far Dubai can look – and how high it dares to aim. Some may shake their heads. Others are already reserving their landing space.
