What happens in Vegas now happens and stays in Dubai. Yes, look forward to The Island, a Las Vegas style mega project by Wasl properties.
The Island, a mega project by Wasl on the Jumeirah Coast, is under construction in Dubai and will welcome a trio of iconic Las Vegas hotels as the MGM, Bellagio and Aria take center stage in this American Las Vegas-inspired project.
For those unfamiliar, these three brands, all of which fall under the MGM, are some of the biggest names in the Vegas hospitality scene. Overlooking the iconic Lake Las Vegas, Bellagio is Mediterranean-inspired, featuring a permanent Cirque du Soleil water show as well as a choreographed fountain show.
Aria is the more upscale big sister brand and caters to foodies with plenty of high-end restaurants like Catch, Jean-Georges Steakhouse and Carbone. Perhaps the most famous of these is the MGM Grand, renowned for its star-studded events, celebrity appearances and hedonistic pool parties.
And what about casino in Dubai?
You are probably asking, what about the casino, which is an inseparable part of Las Vegas. MGM has stated that they can certainly envision a casino at their resort once they receive approval from the newly formed The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). So far, only the upcoming Wynn Resort project in Ras Al Khaimah, scheduled to open in 2027, has been confirmed for a casino.
